‘Bosconian’ - The Hub of Innovation
This sizzling 15th of May, 2009 was special for our School.
For it wasn’t only the last day before a month and a
half long vacation, it was also the first ‘ceremonial’
launch of the School Magazine, “Bosconian”. Some
launches are done from Space Pads, others from Runways. But
this one has the uniqueness of its own, for it was humbly
launched in the morning assembly.
The Senior Students waited patiently as their junior friends
of Classes 4 & 5 joined the exhilarated and impatient
congregation, amidst a decorated assembly hall bannered with
“Happy Holidays” – the reflection of what
possessed the Bosconian’s heart most that day. As the
tumult died down to be replaced by looks of wonder, our principal,
Father Binny Issac handed over the stage to the Editorial
Board Co-ordinator Uma Nair Ma’am.

`Fr.Binny gave us two gifts'.said she,`He gave us the freedom
to create and the trust.'Uma Ma’am told the assembly
of the uniqueness of this edition of the magazine and the
benchmark that it portrayed as a stepping stone ,for the 30
year celebrant issue – Bosconian 2010.
The First Copy of the school magazine was gifted to Father
Binny, who rose the magazine in the air to give a glimpse
of the front cover to his awestruck and wonder filled students.Held
aloft,it drew an air of unabated enthusiasm and glee.
To honour the efforts of the editorial board, the second replica
was presented to the seniormost teacher Mrs.Geeta Kapoor.
The oratorical genius, Mashood Alam, was called for the second
copy, but in a diplomatic coup, he called Uma Ma'am `the lady
who works quietly to perfect everything, and also called her
the `the lady with the Midas touch'.He also thanked Uma Ma’am
for her support and requested Father Binny to give her a copy.
His Midas touch awed the kids and Uma Ma’am blushed
as she stood in the light of full praise, she thanked him
for his golden words and requested Fr.Binny to hand Mashhood
Alam his issue.
The Fourth Copy was rendered to Prassana Balakrishnan, the
maths wiz, and the fifth magazine to the brilliant academic
genius Divyam Rastogi. Sameer Abraham Thomas, the whiz kid
and master quizzer, was given the sixth edition. Anubhav Bindlish,
another academic ace, was rendered the seventh edition of
this flawless magazine.

Apparently, the last copy of the launch was given to topper
Ishan Guliani, but Father Binny had something else in his
mind. He wanted to recognise the efforts put in by two fantastic
student council members, Mohammad Zeeshan Ashraf and Kapil
Khanna, the compeer duo.
As the students went back to their classes, in no time did
the school bell ring, marking the start of the fourth period.
Monitors and Vice Monitors, filled with enthusiasm, rushed
down to beat the que to get their class’s copies first.
Under the guide of the Class Teachers and Martin Sir, the
magazine reached the hands of every student.
Going through the pages of Bosconian, even just flipping them
convenes a thought to one’s mind, that the School Magazine
is a ‘hub of innovation’. For this year’s
magazine wasn’t just fabulous - it was, as the urban
dictionary illustrates, Fantabulous!
Kudos to the Editorial Board and their Chieftain, Uma Ma’am!2010,
Don Bosco Alaknanda turns 30.We're excited! We will be a part
of history!
