Don Bosco School has classes from K.G. to 12.
2. The school prepares the Pupils for the All India Secondary
School Certificate Examination Class (X) AISSE, and the All
India Senior School Certificate Examination Class (X11) AISSCE,
conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New
Delhi.
3. The medium of instruction is English and every effort is
made to teach the students to handle English as a written
and spoken language. Students are expected to speak English
in the school campus. Hindi is taught as a second language
in all classes up to X and Sanskrit is taught as a third language
as per requirements of the CBSE from Classes VI to VIII and
as second language in classes IX and X for those who opt for
it.
4. Classes in Christian Doctrine is compulsory for Christian
students, and instructions in Moral and Spiritual Education
for all students is an integral part of the curriculum followed
in the school.
5. Special attention is given to develop the student's personality,
initiative, originality and sense of national integration
through creative co-curricular activities individually and
in groups.
6. Great importance is given to a high standard of morality
and discipline.
7. Normally admission to Don Bosco School is in KG Class only.
Admission to other classes usually in the month of March,
depends on vacancies available, and is also based on tests
in the standard immediately below that for which admission
is sought, and on interviews with both parents and the candidate.
8. Once selected for admission to any class, the parents should
fill in the admission form with the utmost care, and no subsequent
changes will be permitted.
9. Signatures of both parents must be given on the admission
form, and either signature will be valid for all transactions
while the candidate continues to be in Don Bosco School. The
signing of the admission form constitutes an undertaking by
the parents that they will abide by the rules governing the
school, as contained in this prospectus or amended later
10. New candidates must be introduced personally by the parents
and they will be responsible for the fees, as also the conduct
and studies of the pupils.
11. Proper certificates with the names of the candidate and
his parents must be submitted along with copies, and no affidavits
will be accepted. A student who has attended a recognized
school must present a transfer certificate before he can be
admitted to Don Bosco School. A Christian pupil must also
present a certificate of baptism and a letter of membership
from the local pastor.
12. To select a particular stream in Class XI, aptitude for
the stream must be established through a certain consistency
in the academic performance in classes IX and X. Only those
with a minimum of 60% marks at the All India Secondary School
Examination (X) AISSE will be considered for selection to
the Commerce stream. For the Science stream the minimum will
be 80% marks with a higher percentage in Science and in Mathematics
Considered individually. Admission to a particular stream
will also be dependent on the number of seats allotted to
each section and optional subjects available in the school.
Required standards of discipline and morality as observed
in the earlier classes will also play a major part.
13. At all levels of admission, school transport is independent
of admissions.
14. The Principal is the final authority in all matters of
admission of individual students in the school.
15. One may consider himself admitted only after payment of
all fees required at the time of admission. Subsequent withdrawal,
or non attendance on the required day will mean the cancellation
of the admission and no refund will be considered except for
the caution money if applicable.

17. The tuition fees cover twelve calendar months and must
be paid in four quarterly instalments, in the first month
of each quarter. Fees once paid will not be refunded, except
caution money.
18. Fees are paid to the School's account with the Federal
Bank, G.K.II Branch. If the cheque is not cleared by the due
date, the student will be considered a defaulter and he will
be charged late fee at the rate of Rs.100/- per quarter with
cumulative effect.
19. If fees are not paid by the due date, the child may be
debarred from sitting in class, and if the dues exceed 2 quarter
fees, the name may be struck off the register, and to continue,
the readmission fee will be charged.
20. The School reserves the right to increase the fees at
any time of the year, if an increment is considered necessary
by the Managing Committee.
21. Every student must wear a clean, complete and correct

22. To ensure uniformity the uniform material must be bought
from the authorized tailor.
ASSESSMENTS
AND PROMOTION |
23. The school has the semester system of evaluation and
assessment approved by the CBSE.
24. Within each term the will be also be regular class tests
which will be taken into account for Promotion Record.
25. Details of class tests, terminal examinations, along
with the schedule and syllabus will be given separately.
26. The Progress Reports will give an accurate picture of
the performance of the students and these records are to
be maintained, also in the school dairy.
27. Progress Reports issued after the terminal examination
are to be Collected personally by the parents on the scheduled
day.
28. School transport will be considered for those admitted
to the school, if available on the particular route.
29. School will not be responsible, for the unavailability
of the bus service in certain areas, or on certain routes,
and parents must take this into account at the time of admission
or at the time of change of residence.
30. Every student who uses the transport must carry with
him the bus pass which may be asked for at any time on the
bus by the monitor or other authorized persons.
31. A written application is required for the use of the
bus. To discontinue the bus a written application must be
given and the fees for the quarter paid. Bus fees are to
be paid for 11 months only, on quarterly basis along with
the school fees at the Federal Bank.
32. School reserves the right to deny the use of the bus
to any student at any time, to change the route or to cancel
any particular route, if it becomes necessary. Preference
for bus will be given to the students of lower classes,
and senior students may be denied the use of the bus.
33. Entrance to the laboratory is restricted to the period
given for practicals, or with the consent of the Teacher
and the permission of the Principal provided that the lab
assistant is present.
34. Any damage done in the lab must be made good by the
student, and if the student is not identified, by the class
that used the lab.
35. Every precaution and safely suggestion made by the teacher/
lab assistant must be followed.
36. school hours are from 7.20a.m. to 1.30p.m., Monday to
Friday. Some Saturday will be used for extra classes, co-curricular
activities, seminars, workshops, Parent Teacher Meet etc.
37. The summer vacations will be from mid- May to early
July and the winter vacation from mid-December to early
January. These and other vacations may not be anticipated
or extended without prior permission. Non attendance on
the first day of class after any vacation is considered
a serious breach of discipline.
38. Every student must have a copy of the School Diary.
The School Diary must be brought to school on class days.
39. Once in the school, no student will be allowed to leave
the campus without the authorization of the Principal, who
will require the written request from the parents to take
a child out. The exit pass must be noted in the school diary,
for security reasons, no one other than the parents or persons
authorized by them may take the child out of the school.
40. The school begins with prayer (Assembly) and all are
expected to be present for the same.
