PROVINCIAL VISIT

Fr. Davis Maniparamben, SDB, paid a two-day provincial visit to Don Bosco School, Alaknanda, New Delhi, on the 29th and 30th of August 2024. The visit was marked by a warm and formal welcome extended by the school’s Principal, Fr. Sujith Augustine. During his address to the staff, Fr. Davis welcomed the new teachers who had recently joined the institution. He took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of the Don Bosco pedagogy, which is grounded in the Preventive System. He elaborated on how this system is not just about academic excellence but also about the holistic development of the students, focusing on the creation of a family spirit within the school environment. Fr. Davis also highlighted the significance of developing soft skills in educators and the role of empathetic intelligence in teaching. He advised all staff members to pay special attention to weaker students, marginalized individuals, and underprivileged children, stressing that there should be no barriers of language, colour, or any other form of discrimination within the school. In addition to addressing the teaching staff, Fr. Davis met separately with the office staff, Salesian Cooperators, ADMA members, and non-teaching staff. These meetings were an opportunity to engage with different members of the school community and to discuss their roles in fostering the school’s mission. Before concluding his visit, Fr. Davis expressed his gratitude to the Rector, Fr. Binny Isaac, Principal Fr. Sujith Augustine, Vice Principal Fr. Ashok Ekka, and Administrator Fr. Anup Minj for the warm welcome and the hospitality he received during his stay. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Saiby Mathew on behalf of the staff, acknowledging the insights and guidance provided by Fr. Davis during his visit.
