Post-Event Report

BoscoMUN 2024, held on November 30 and December 1, 2024, brought together over 125 participants from various institutions, fostering diplomacy, debate, and collaboration. Spearheaded by the Secretariat—Milan Shobi, Founder and President, Aadawya, Co-Founder and Vice President, Aayan Farooqui, Secretary General, Albin Babu, Director General, Ansh Gupta, Deputy Secretary General and Mankirat Singh Lamba, OC Head—the event reflected months of meticulous planning under the guidance of teacher coordinators Ms. Debanjana Sinha Roy, Ms. Manasi Dutta, Ms. Tiza R. Skariah, Mr. Mathew K. Thomas and Mr. Saiby Mathew.

The opening ceremony set the stage for two days of intellectual engagement, graced by Prof. (Dr.) Atyab Siddiqui and Ms. Umema Siddiqui as Chief Guests, Fr. Sujith Augustine SDB, Principal and Chief Patron, Fr. Binny Issac SDB, Guest of Honour, Fr. Ashok Ekka SDB and Fr. Anup Minj SDB as Honoured Patrons, the Teacher Coordinators, the Secretariat and the faculty and staff. The dignitaries’ inspiring speeches and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked a fitting beginning.

The Executive Board (EB) members were an integral part of BoscoMUN 2024, ensuring structured and dynamic committee proceedings. Each committee was led by experienced and accomplished individuals who ushered in a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the event. Their guidance fostered a rich exchange of ideas, critical discussions, and diplomacy among the delegates. The EB members, including the Chairpersons, the Vice-chairpersons, and the Rapporteurs, played a pivotal role in ensuring meaningful deliberations. The dedicated OC members gave their best in maintaining the decorum and discipline of the two-day conference.

Six committees—UNGA, UNSC, UNCSW, UNHRC, AIPPM, and IP—delved into pressing global issues, ranging from UN reforms to human rights violations and electoral reforms. Each session showcased the delegates’ eloquence, diplomacy, and collaborative spirit, underscoring the event’s focus on intellectual exchange. On both the days, BoscoMUN 2024 witnessed an average of five hours of sessions.

The closing ceremony celebrated the participants’ achievements with awards for Best Delegate, High Commendation, and 2 Special Mentions. Summer Fields School proudly lifted the trophy for Best School Delegation. The awards were proudly handed over by Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine, Principal and Chief Patron and Rev. Fr. Ashok Ekka, Vice Principal. Speeches from the President, Milan Shobi, and Teacher Coordinator, Ms. Debanjana Sinha Roy, were inspiring tales of struggle and success. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Mathew K Thomas. The MUN was declared closed until next year, by the President.

BoscoMUN 2024 was a resounding success, reaffirming its place as a premier platform for youth diplomacy and intellectual engagement. The Secretariat and Coordinators look forward to raising the bar even higher next year.
