The school is buzzing with festive spirit as the advent season kicked off on December 3rd. Staff and students are actively engaged in decorating their respective classrooms, staff rooms, and school corridors. The entire campus is filled with positivity and happiness as everyone comes together to celebrate.

Preparations are in full swing for special programs scheduled in the coming days. Practices have begun to ensure that these programs are executed flawlessly. The anticipation and collaborative efforts of both staff and students are contributing to a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere throughout the school.

The dedication to creating a joyful environment and organizing special events reflect the strong sense of community within the school. It’s a heartening sight to witness the collective enthusiasm as everyone gears up for the festive season.

On December 11th, Class 7A led a special assembly in the school auditorium, shedding light on the significance of Christmas. Following the informative session, an exciting event called “Rock the Carol” took place. This event featured an inter-house Carol Singing Competition, adding a musical and competitive element to the festivities.

Students from different houses showcased their vocal talents and creativity as they presented a variety of carols. The competition not only fostered a sense of healthy competition but also brought together the school community in the spirit of celebration.

The enthusiastic participation and lively performances contributed to a festive atmosphere, further enhancing the joyous ambiance on the school campus during the holiday season. This event served as a platform for students to express their musical abilities and share the joy of Christmas with their peers.

On December 18th, a festive and inclusive “Jingles and Mingles” Christmas Party was organized by Christian teachers for all staff members in the school auditorium. The event commenced with an introduction by Mr. Saiby Mathew, setting the stage for a joyous celebration.

An engaging audio-visual presentation on the Christmas story captivated the audience, immersing them in the spirit of the season. The highlight of the event was the arrival of “Mama Santa,” adding a delightful touch to the festivities.

Ms. Reema and her elves orchestrated entertaining fun and games, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the staff. Angelic melodies, led by Ms. Suparna, and the staff choir, added a musical charm to the evening.

The Rector and Principal Fr. Hemlet Kujur delivered a heartfelt Christmas message, emphasizing the significance of the season. The celebration continued with grace spoken before meals led by the Administrator, Fr. Anup Minj, bringing a sense of unity and gratitude to the gathering.

The “Jingles and Mingles” Christmas Party proved to be a memorable and inclusive event, creating an atmosphere of joy, togetherness, and festive cheer among the school staff.

On December 22nd, the school witnessed the inauguration and blessing of the Christmas crib, marking the beginning of the Christmas celebration organized by the school management. The coordinated efforts of Mr. Mathew Thomas, Mr. Saiby Mathew, and their team played a pivotal role in making the event a success.

Vice Principal, Fr. Sajin Varghese, delivered a meaningful Christmas message, emphasizing the spirit of joy and goodwill. The celebration featured lively activities, including carol singing and a spirited game of musical chairs, fostering a festive atmosphere.

The Principal, Fr. Hemlet Kujur led the gathering in a moment of reflection with grace before meals, bringing a sense of unity and gratitude to the festive occasion. The event overall contributed to a joyous and communal celebration of Christmas within the school community. Staff members were gifted with a Christmas cake and a 2024 pictorial calendar for their families.

On December 23rd, the much-anticipated Christmas Carnival marked the culmination of festivities at Don Bosco School Alaknanda. Serving as an annual event, it brought together the entire school community to celebrate the last day before the winter break.

The carnival featured an array of activities, with each class contributing by setting up game stalls, a food court, and even rides for the children. The day commenced with an inauguration ceremony at 9 am, including carol singing by the school band.

Principal Fr. Hemlet Kujur delivered a festive Christmas message, setting the tone for the joyful occasion. The carnival officially kicked off with the release of red and white balloons by the Principal, declaring the event open. Santa Claus made a grand entrance, accompanied by special guests, drummer boys and little ones displaying the Christmas symbols through their colourful costumes, adding to the festive charm.

The Christmas Carnival at Don Bosco School Alaknanda served as a vibrant and communal way to conclude the school year, spreading joy and holiday spirit among students, staff, and families.
