On 16 November 2025, Don Bosco School, Alaknanda, New Delhi, once again became the vibrant centre of biblical scholarship as it hosted the much-awaited 15th Inter-School/Parish Don Bosco Bible Quiz. Organised with exceptional dedication by the Association of Salesian Co-operators, Okhla Unit, together with the ADMA members, the event brought together an impressive gathering of young scholars, with 19 teams participating from across the Delhi-NCR region.
Under the visionary guidance of Rev. Fr. Binny Issac SDB, Rector and Manager, and Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine SDB, Principal, the programme unfolded with inspiration and grace, reflecting the school’s enduring commitment to nurturing spiritual and intellectual excellence. The presence of distinguished dignitaries elevated the solemnity of the occasion. Chief Guest Rev Fr. Mathew Koyickal , Deputy Secretary General, Director CBCI Centre graced the gathering with his words of pastoral wisdom. Joining him were the esteemed Guests of Honour-Rev. Fr. Davis Maniparamben SDB, Provincial of the Delhi Province, Rev. Fr. Michael Peedikayil SDB, Former Provincial of Delhi Province, Provincial Delegate for Salesian Cooperators, INN Delhi and Rev Fr. Aneesh Chacko SDB .Their encouragement to the young participants underscored the enduring relevance of Scripture in shaping minds and nurturing moral imagination.
The competition commenced with a rigorous written preliminary round, from which the top eight teams – Mount St. Mary’s School Team 1 and 2, St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School Team 1 and 2, Holy Child Auxilium, Vasant Vihar, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Mater Dei School and St. Joseph Academy, Dilshad Garden advanced to the finals. The final quiz was thoughtfully designed with eight intellectually stimulating rounds, each crafted to test not only memory but also comprehension, interpretation, and presence of mind. The themes ranged across a wide spectrum, from the Gospel of Mark and the Book of Genesis to the Life of Don Bosco, St. Alphonsa, and the Seven Capital Sins and Virtues. The much-anticipated Audio-Visual and Rapid-Fire rounds intensified the contest, demanding swift recall and razor-sharp accuracy. The seamless coordination of the Quiz Masters, Rev. Fr. Davis Maniparamben SDB, Rev Fr. Aneesh Chacko SDB, Mr. Joshy George, and Ms. Marlyn Mervin kept the atmosphere deeply engaging.
Throughout the event, the auditorium resonated with enthusiasm as participants demonstrated remarkable clarity, depth of understanding, and admirable teamwork. After a gripping finale, Mount St. Mary’s School emerged as the champion, St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School Team 2 secured the second position, while St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School Team 1 claimed the third position, showcasing commendable preparation and poise.
The champions were honoured with certificates, medals, and cash prizes, while all participants received certificates of participation in recognition of their earnest preparation and fervent engagement with the quiz. The 15th edition of the Don Bosco Bible Quiz concluded on a note of gratitude and inspiration, affirming that when young minds engage with Scripture, they not only grow in knowledge but also in wisdom that shapes character, conviction, and purpose.
