The 31st edition of the Don Bosco GK Quiz was held on August 02, 2024, at Don Bosco School, Alaknanda. This annual event aims to provide enriching experiences to students from classes IV and V, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their intelligence and compete with their peers. Participants from over 60 schools across Delhi and the NCR region enthusiastically joined this prestigious competition. The event was conducted with fair rules and time limits to maintain a competitive yet friendly atmosphere.
The event commenced with a captivating welcome program, setting the stage for an intellectually stimulating quiz competition. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by esteemed dignitaries, including the school’s Principal, Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine, added a reverent aura to the occasion. The junior school choir’s melodious welcome song filled the auditorium with warmth and cordiality. In his address, Fr. Binny Issac welcomed all participating teams and praised their enthusiasm. He encouraged them to pursue knowledge beyond the competition and officially declared Quiz 2024 open.
The quiz consisted of two rounds designed to test participants’ knowledge, critical thinking, and quick reflexes. A brisk preliminary written round set the tone, showcasing energetic and prompt responses from the participants. The top eight teams advanced to the main rounds, featuring questions from varied fields. Participants displayed exceptional knowledge and teamwork. The questions put forth to the teams were intriguing, exciting and made the audience applaud excitedly when the teams answered correctly.
The event was a huge success and concluded with the students being thankful to the school for giving them the platform to grow in their knowledge. The success was also attributed to the dedicated work of quiz coordinators Ms. Anupama Kumar, Ms. Vimal M Titus, Ms Juhi Chawla Kumar, Ms Vincy and Ms Sharon. Their meticulous planning, question selection, and flawless execution ensured a seamless quiz experience and enriched the participants’ learning journey. Quiz masters Mr. Mathew K. Thomas, Ms. Anupama Kumar and Ms Neetu Sharma expertly hosted the event, keeping participants and the audience engaged throughout.
The winners, finalists and participants were honoured by Fr Charles Lobo, Fr. Sujith Augustine, Fr. Binny Issac, Fr. Ashok Ekka and Administrator Fr. Anup Minj. They felicitated them with trophies, medals, and certificates. Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar won the first prize. D.P.S International, Saket won the second prize and Raghubir Jr Modern School bagged the third prize. The overall winning team also received the Rolling Trophy for the 31st Don Bosco Quiz, presented by Fr. Sujith Augustine, bringing joy to all present. The quiz’s success highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals capable of excelling in various fields.
