In view of today’s global problems, the course of yoga is compulsory, as mental and physical stress is increasing everywhere, students will benefit from this course. Just as the word yoga means to connect, the students will also have loyalty and engagement towards their duty towards society and our society will move towards a positive thinking.

The aim of yoga thus, at the school level, is to encourage a positive and healthy lifestyle for physical, mental and emotional health of children. Yoga helps in the development of strength, stamina, endurance and high energy at physical level. It also empowers oneself with increased concentration, calm, peace and contentment at mental level leading to inner and outer harmony.

You have seen students of different age groups, performing various yogic practices such as asanas and pranayama׳s. Yogic practices are beneficial for the health of people of all age groups including children. Surya Namaskara is a series of 12 physical postures. These postures stretch various muscles and spinal column and give flexibility to the whole body.

The Asanas of SGFI National Game Yoga Competition are also practiced as per the rules.

Note: All Students from class 1 to class 12 compulsorily attend yoga class at the time prescribed by the school.  Yoga has been included in physical subject by CBSE.
