DON BOSCO BIBLE QUIZ

14th Inter-School Don Bosco Bible Quiz  

On 20th October 2024, Don Bosco School, Alaknanda, New Delhi, hosted the highly anticipated 14th Inter-School Don Bosco Bible Quiz. Organised by the Association of Salesian Co-operators Okhla Unit and ADMA members. This prestigious event brought together the brightest young minds, with a total of 34 teams participating from the Delhi NCR region. Under the dynamic leadership of Rev. Fr. Binny Issac, SDB, Rector and Manager, Don Bosco School, Alaknanda and Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine SDB, Principal Don Bosco School, Alaknanda the event unfolded into an extraordinary showcase of biblical wisdom.

The programme was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Chief Guest Msgr. Vincent D’Souza, Vicar General, Archdiocese of Delhi, and Guests of Honour Rev. Fr. Michael Peedikayil, SDB, former Provincial, Delhi Province and Provincial Delegate for Salesian Cooperators and Rev. Fr. Sajin Varghese, SDB, Provincial Economer, INN Delhi. Their presence brought a profound sense of significance, as they applauded the young participants for their dedication to studying the Scriptures.

A challenging written round was held, leading to the selection of the final eight teams. The quiz, structured with meticulous care, consisted of seven riveting rounds designed to challenge the students’ biblical knowledge. The rounds spanned a rich array of themes, from The Gospel of Matthew and the Life of St. Carlo Acutis to the First Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians, the Life of Don Bosco, and the Sacraments. Each round added to the intensity, culminating in the highly anticipated Audio-Visual and Rapid-Fire rounds, where speed and precision were key.  The masterful coordination of the quiz by Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine, Rev. Fr. Sajin, Mr. Joshy George, and Ms. Marlyn Mervin elevated the excitement and deepened the learning experience, captivating participants and spectators alike. As the competition progressed, the air buzzed with anticipation and excitement. Participants displayed extraordinary skill, knowledge, and teamwork as they navigated the challenging rounds. In the end, Mount St. Mary’s School emerged as the champion, Don Bosco School, Alaknanda, secured the second position, while St. Mary’s Senior Secondary School claimed third position.

The winners received certificates, medals, and cash prizes, while all participants took home certificates of participation. The collaborative spirit of the Association of Salesian Co-operators Okhla Unit and ADMA members, coupled with the unwavering support of Don Bosco School’s leadership, contributed to an unforgettable day of learning and spiritual reflection.
