SCI MAT 2024

Scimat 2024 began with a spark as our Principal, Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine SDB officially opened Science and Maths Week with a mesmerizing Color Symphony Experiment, blending science with art in a way that left everyone inspired. This visually stunning start ignited excitement and curiosity among students, setting the perfect tone for the week.

Throughout Scimat 2024, students of all ages engaged in a range of activities designed to foster learning, creativity, and teamwork. From the Rubik’s Cube Finale, where students from grades 9 to 12 demonstrated remarkable focus and speed, to Class 7’s “Picturesque” event that transformed scientific concepts into art, poetry, and presentations, each activity brought a unique flavour to the celebration. Class 1 kicked off their journey into science and math with a hands-on classroom activity, filling the room with enthusiasm and joy.

Hands-on experiences were the theme as Class 2 rolled up their sleeves to make compost, learning about recycling and sustainability, while Class 6 embraced innovation in “Toycathon” by creating toys based on scientific principles. Classes 3 and 4 received essential first aid training from Holy Family Hospital, building confidence and practical skills for emergencies.

The week continued with intellectual and emotional growth activities. Class 4 enjoyed a Maths and Science Crossword, challenging their problem-solving skills in a fun way, while Class 7 competed in “Minute to Win It,” racing through quick science experiments to blend excitement with learning. Senior students gained valuable insights into emotional resilience and self-care during a Mental Health Talk held in collaboration with Fortis Hospital and Bosco Bliss.

Scimat 2024 reached new heights with advanced learning and friendly competition. Grades 9 to 12 took on the individual challenge of CypherX 3.0, a cryptic hunt that demanded sharp logical thinking and creativity. Classes 8 to 10 explored robotics, getting hands-on with technology and discovering its potential. The Maths Olympiad welcomed students from grades 1 to 8, providing an inspiring platform to showcase their passion for mathematics.

The week wrapped up with joyful and memorable activities. Class 8 students demonstrated their quick thinking in “Just a Minute,” impressing everyone with their confidence and spontaneity. Class 1 students enjoyed an exciting lab visit, their first time experiencing science in a real lab setting. For Class 5, a Maths and Science Crossword brought added fun and challenge, ending the week on an educational high.
