The staff animation program aimed to explore how educators can inspire students by integrating the Salesian principles of reason, religion, and loving-kindness. Attended by over 120 educators, the event featured Fr. (Dr.) John Parankimalil SDB, Secretary, AIDBES, as the keynote speaker, renowned for his expertise in Salesian pedagogy.
The seminar began with a prayer by Rev. Fr. PD Johny and a welcome address by Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine, the Principal.
Fr. Johny highlighted the foundational Salesian principles, sharing anecdotes and success stories to illustrate their practical impact on student motivation and achievement. Experienced educators discussed strategies to enhance student engagement, the role of extracurricular activities, and the integration of Salesian values in everyday teaching practices.
Participants engaged in an interactive discourse focusing on developing motivational lesson plans, creating positive classroom environments, and personalized mentoring. These discussions facilitated practical application of the discussed theories of the Principles of Learning and the shift from the Repressive System of Learning to the Preventive and Expressive System, the Salesian way.
Father Johny summarized the program’s key takeaways, stressing the importance of continuous professional development and collaboration among Salesian educators. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the filling up of the feedback form.
The program reinforced the pivotal role of teachers in motivating students through Salesian principles. Participants left with valuable insights and practical tools to foster a more engaging and supportive learning environment in the classrooms and the school.
