Teachers’ Day Celebration

The campus of Don Bosco School, Alaknanda glowed not just with festivity but with deep respect and love as the school came together on 4 September to celebrate the heart and soul of our educational journey—our teachers. The Teachers’ Day celebration was a heartfelt tribute, meticulously curated by the students to express their gratitude to the mentors who guide, inspire, and empower.

The celebration began with the warm welcoming of teachers, as they entered the auditorium amidst applause and respect. The atmosphere was soon lit—both literally and symbolically—as the ceremonial lighting of candles took place. Each flicker of the flame represented the light of knowledge, the torch of wisdom passed down through generations of learners and educators. This timeless tradition stood as a powerful reminder of the role our teachers play in enlightening young minds.

What followed was a soulful blend of poetry and emotion. An emotional recitation of poem paid a worthy homage to the tireless dedication of teachers, their belief in every student, and their ability to turn potential into purpose. Adding a personal and cultural touch, the audience was then treated to a moving shayari that stirred hearts. The verses beautifully encapsulated the essence of teaching.

Next came the much-anticipated Audio-Visual skit, which had the entire hall bursting into laughter. Unlike traditional skits, this one leaned heavily into humour, cleverly portraying the everyday classroom moments and light-hearted exchanges between teachers and students. It was a hilarious take on the quirks of school life—relatable, witty, and full of affection.

However, the celebrations didn’t stop within the walls of the school. In a heart-warming act of kindness, the School Council visited the Mother Teresa Home Orphanage, carrying with them not just gifts, but the spirit of their teachers. Each child at the orphanage received chocolates (each labelled with the name of a teacher), notebooks, and colour pencils—a symbolic gesture representing how the values imparted by teachers extend beyond the classroom and into the community.

The emotional core of the event came alive as our Principal, Rev. Fr. Sujith Augustine addressed the gathering, acknowledging the commitment and love that teachers pour into their profession. He encouraged students to always honour and respect their gurus, and reminded the faculty of the profound impact they continue to have on countless young lives.

As a token of appreciation, personalised mementos were presented to every teacher. What made this moment even more special was the visual tribute in the background—a touching display of each teacher’s photo in both 3D and animated formats. These creative edits brought smiles and laughter, making it a moment to cherish.

The celebration continued with a soulful musical performance by the talented singers. Their melody created an emotional ambiance, resonating with gratitude and admiration for the educators who guide and support.

Adding to the emotional cadence of the evening was a moving solo dance performance by our Cultural Captain, J Emmanuel Jefrith. Set to the heartfelt tune of Luka Chuppi, his expressive performance beautifully captured the silent sacrifices and deep emotions tied to the student-teacher bond. It was a touching moment that left the audience both mesmerized and teary-eyed.

From there, the stage shifted from reflection to celebration, as the vibrance and energy of the dancers and the School Council took over. Their dynamic group performance brought a blast of colour, rhythm, and pure joy to the auditorium. The electrifying choreography, filled with enthusiasm and unity, served as the perfect high-spirited tribute to our teachers.

The day concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by the Head Boy, Ansh Gupta, who eloquently expressed the sentiments of every student in the school. His words were a perfect closing to a day filled with respect, laughter, and heartfelt gratitude.
