TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS

A special assembly was organized on 5 September at Don Bosco School Alaknanda by the Members of the Student Council. The event featured a variety of performances and speeches, celebrating the hard work and dedication of the school’s teaching and non-teaching staff.

The assembly began with a warm welcome by Sauresh Sharma, the Cultural Captain, setting a positive tone for the event.
A heartfelt rendition of “You Raise Me Up,” by the School Band, filled the atmosphere with a sense of gratitude and inspiration.

The Headboy Mankirat Singh Lamba and Sauresh Sharma charmed the audience with their beautiful ‘shayari’ , adding an element of culture and emotion to the event.
Aditya Goel recited a moving self composed poem dedicated to teachers, titled “Teacher Appreciation,” highlighting the role of educators in shaping young minds.
The Principal,
Fr. Sujith Augustine Sdb, delivered an insightful speech, urging students and staff alike to:
– Live life with commitment.
– Develop a larger heart and the courage to lead into the unknown.
– Be willing to walk the extra mile.
– Approach life with enthusiasm, viewing oneself as a representative of God.
To honour the teaching and non-teaching staff, he then proceeded to present gifts as a token of appreciation to all members of the teaching fraternity for their dedication and service to the school.

The school band performed an engaging piece titled “You Know How I Feel,” energizing the crowd with their musical talents.

Students from classes XI and XII performed a well-choreographed group dance, adding a lively and joyful touch to the proceedings.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks jointly delivered by the Headboy, Mankirat Singh Lamba and the Cultural Captain Sauresh Sharma. They expressed their gratitude to the school management, staff, and fellow students for making the day a success.

A special lunch was organized for the teaching and non-teaching staff by the school management, further appreciating their hard work and contributions.

A special message by Rector and Manager Fr. Binny Isaac
Fr. Binny Isaac concluded the day with a thoughtful message, emphasizing the *three essential qualities of a teacher*:
*Mentor*: Guiding students in their journey of learning and growth.
2. *Facilitator*: Helping students navigate challenges and providing resources for success.
3. *Dreamer*: Inspiring students to dream big and workout towards their aspirations.

The event was a heartfelt tribute to the school’s educators, celebrating their crucial role in the development of students and the school community.
